WHO WE ARE

A wing of the Rural Development & Panchayat Raj Department

The Panchayat Raj Engineering Division (PRED), Chitradurga, is a key wing of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department. It is tasked with planning, designing, constructing, and maintaining critical rural infrastructure to uplift the living standards of citizens in the district.

The administrative, technical, and financial powers are hierarchical to maintain accountability. The Executive Engineer (EE) heads the division, holding administrative and financial power to approve technical estimates up to ₹10 Lakhs at the division level and serving as the tender accepting authority for works up to ₹50 Lakhs. The Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) heads the respective Taluk Sub-division, responsible for executing civil works, supervising Junior and Assistant Engineers, and preparing technical estimates for approval.
